Last year he forced InfoSpace Inc to give half its $400 million cash to shareholders as a special dividend (Sandell has criticised Sybase for high cash reserves). Never heard of InfoSpace? How about Heinz - the ketchup maker - who also complied with his demands. Sandell has run into trouble, notably being fined $8 million for improperly short-selling a New Orleans bank stock right after Hurricane Katrina. The guy fights tough - John Chen may be in for a rocky time....full blog from Computer World's Eric Lai
